CAIRO – 4 November 2022: Egypt condemned Friday the assassination attempt of Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, wishing him and all of the injured a speedy recovery.
The statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also asserted Egypt’s support to the Pakistani government and other people against all types of violence, extremism, and terrorism.
Khan was shot within the leg while standing on a bed of a truck, and addressing protesters he was leading in Wazirabad town positioned in Northeast Pakistan. The incident incurred the death of 1, and the injury of 10.
In September, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi made a phone call to incumbent Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sherif to specific solidarity with the country within the aftermath of deadly floods.
Sharif thanked Sisi and the Egyptian people for his or her support and hoped to spice up bilateral relations, especially in the sphere of climate change. That’s in light of Egypt’s hosting of the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP27, to happen in Sharm El Sheikh in November.
The prime minister also hailed the inspiring Egyptian model, under President Sisi, in various developmental fields in addition to Egypt’s leading political role within the region.
