Matt Richter is deeply committed to making sure the people of Parry Sound—Muskoka have a healthy and prosperous future. He sees the approaching election as our best challenge and our best opportunity. Combating the climate crisis and constructing a more caring economy as we get better from COVID is imperative.
Since his first run in 2007, he and his team have grown Green Party of Ontario support within the riding to twenty% of the vote, second only to Mike Schreiner, Leader of the GPO and MPP for Guelph.
Matt Richter listens to the people of the riding. Between elections he champions the problems they raise akin to reasonably priced attainable housing, keeping hospitals and schools open in our communities, increasing local food production and assuring food security.
Healthy communities have healthy economies. Matt commits to growing good local jobs. He supports small businesses and a “buy local” campaign to grow this backbone of our communities. He knows about this from first hand experience. After 18 years as a teacher with the Trillium Lakelands School Board, he took a leave in 2016 to found Best Ever Food.
Matt values family and community. He, his wife, Kailey and their three children enjoy skiing, playing hockey, cycling, and canoe tripping. He volunteers coaching local league hockey and soccer in Huntsville. He loves teaching and learning together with his students and knows the importance of investing of their future.
Matt Richter knows what’s at stake on this election. “The solutions are at our doorstep.” he says. “We’d like the political will and the political leadership to implement them. I’m able to be that voice for the people of Parry Sound—Muskoka.”
