Green Party of Canada's Response to Hurricane Fiona

VANCOUVER – Green Party interim Leader Amita Kuttner today issued the next statement on the Ontario election.

“Today I speak on behalf of Greens across the country after I congratulate Green Party of Ontario Leader Mike Schreiner and his team on an impressive achievement last night.

“Mike not only retained his seat of Guelph, he increased his majority to a remarkable 54.5 per cent of the vote. The trend was the identical across the province because the Green share of the full vote jumped by greater than 30 per cent and Matt Richter got here so near taking the Conservative stronghold of Parry Sound-Muskoka.

“These results are a tribute to Mike Schreiner’s tireless work on behalf of the residents of Guelph and his relentless advocacy for progressive, revolutionary policies within the legislature.

“Well done, Mike and all of the Ontario Green Party candidates. You’re an inspiration to us all.”
