Alberta Green Party candidate creates ’90s-inspired mock campaign website

EDMONTON – With a psychedelic background, colour-changing dancing frogs and just throughout flash, one Alberta Green Party candidate has created an internet site that you just really should see, and listen to, to imagine.

While it’s not his official campaign website, Red Deer-South candidate Ben Dubois says he created the ’90s-inspired website to make a press release.

“The goal was to indicate that politics hasn’t modified since these web sites were popular, that the web and other people have been progressing from the train wrecks of the past and creating modern more appealing services using the net; yet our legislators still maintain these old ideas and ways of pondering,” Dubois said in an email to Global News.

The web site comes with a disclaimer to elucidate it’s only a joke. Dubois redirects readers to his actual campaign website.

The web site, which comes complete with a Snoop Dogg cursor, caused quite the stir on social media.
