The agreement is expected to facilitate the deployment of over 120 MW of commercial rooftop and groundmount solar PV projects across Ontario over a two-year period, with an initial focus on 5 MW of JCM’s commercial rooftop projects, which already have FIT contracts. Panasonic’s solar PV modules manufactured in Ontario, will be featured throughout all of the designated projects.
Panasonic Corp. of North America has established Panasonic Eco Solutions Canada Inc., which will provide design, implementation and financing of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in Canada.
The new Mississauga, Ontario-based company will supply enterprise customers with a newly developed solar photovoltaic module product line, the SCI Series, which is designed to meet domestic-content requirements under the Ontario feed-in-tariff program.
The SCI Series features four different models, including 60-cell and 72-cell polycrystalline modules, and 60-cell and 72-cell monocrystalline modules, with a rated output of up to 255 W for the 60-cell monocrystalline modules and up to 305 W for the 72-cell monocrystalline modules.
The modules are manufactured by Celestica at its operations in Toronto
