COUNCILLOR BONNIE CROMBIE TO HOST EARTH CLEAN-UP & FAMILY ECO FAIR
On Saturday, April 27th, Ward 5 City Councillor, Bonnie Crombie will host a full day of FREE Earth Day activities for families, including an eco-fair featuring environmental organizations from across Mississauga and Peel region, as well as two park clean-ups in her ward.
The agenda for the full day of activities is as follows:

MORNING – Frank McKechnie Community Centre (310 Bristol Rd. East)
9:00 am – 10:00 am: Pancake Breakfast with Councillor Crombie, with refreshments provided by COBS Bakery (Hurontario Road and Eglinton Avenue)
9:30 am – 11:30 am: Garbage Can Painting for kids
10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Park Clean-Up
AFTERNOON – Malton Community Centre (3540 Morning Star Drive)
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Malton Greenway Clean-Up
2:00 pm – 6:00 pm: Eco-Fair with activities for all ages including:
 
· FREE Electronic Waste collection sponsored by SIMS Recycling Solutions
· Seed planting and education sessions by EcoSource
· Bird house building led by Patrick Kelly and sponsored by the Halton-Peel Woodlands & Wildlife Stewardship
· MiWay Hybrid Bus tours
· Interactive Wildlife Fur & Skulls display by Toronto Region Conservation Authority
· Energy oriented games & prizing by Enersource
· Games and activities hosted by the Malton Moms
· Refreshments sponsored by UAE Exchange and Verdi Banquet Hall
4:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Live Birds of Prey Demonstration featuring eagles, hawks, falcons and owls led by the Ontario Falconry Centre and sponsored by SIMS Recycling Solutions
5:00 pm – 6:00 pm: Meet & greet with falcons, eagles, hawks and owls
“I’m delighted to host this day long Earth Day celebration and clean up in our Ward 5 community,” said Crombie. “Clean parks and clean streets go a long way to revitalizing a neighbourhood and I believe it is critically important that all members of the community pitch in to make their local areas clean and vibrant.”
Although Councillor Crombie is hosting the event, there are a number of organizations participating in the day’s activities, including: SIMS Recycling Solutions; Enersource; EcoSource; the Toronto Region Conservation Authority; City of Mississauga Parks and Recreation; City of Mississauga Cycling Office, the Region of Peel; Mississauga Transit; Credit Valley Conservation; Halton-Peel Woodlands and Wildlife Stewardship; the Ontario Falconry Centre; Sierra Club; COBS Bakery; Verdi Banquet Hall in Malton; and UAE Exchange.
