Canada’s Business Community to Gather for CBSR’s 10th Annual Summit:  Global Experts to Present the Emerging Consensus on Transformational CSR
On November 7th, 2012, CBSR’s 10th Annual Summit will gather Canada’s corporate leaders and academics to reflect on the evolution of CSR, release CBSR’s latest research, and feature some of the most experienced and “best practice” experts from Unilever, RONA, HP Canada, Rio Tinto, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR), and many others, to share their respective lessons learned.

A decade ago, a small group of dynamic thought leaders representing a handful of Canadian companies gathered together at the inaugural Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR) Summit to discuss the emerging field of CSR. Over the last decade, this gathering has significantly grown in size and scope, and corporate commitment to CSR performance has evolved dramatically from philanthropic cheque writing and risk mitigation to a long-term and sophisticated strategy that is closely integrated with strategic, operational, financial and marketing plans.

Now in its 10th year, the CBSR Annual Summit is Canada’s premier conference on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It brings together Canada’s top executives and experts from leading companies to highlight initiatives on how to integrate CSR into corporate strategy, and covers current trends, policies and programs that can influence future business innovation.

CBSR will reveal newest research on the “Qualities of a Transformational Company” that will be the basis for further thought leader work in 2013 and beyond. These qualities have been developed through an analysis of existing global “standards” and guidelines, supplemented with feedback from over three dozen Canadian and global thought leaders.
